DC HOSA is the District of Columbia state association of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education division of ACTE. Since our establishment, we've been dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare leaders right here in Washington, DC.
We are 750 members strong across 16 active chapters throughout the District, including both middle school and secondary school divisions. Our members represent the diversity and excellence of DC itself—students from all backgrounds united by a shared passion for healthcare and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
DC HOSA provides students with opportunities to:
From Capitol Hill to Anacostia, from Georgetown to Congress Heights, DC HOSA chapters are making an impact in every corner of our city. Our members volunteer hundreds of hours annually, participate in life-saving initiatives like the National Marrow Donor Program, and represent the District with pride at the International Leadership Conference each year.
DC HOSA is led by our State Advisor in partnership with an elected State Officer team of dedicated student leaders. Our operations are guided by the DC HOSA 100 Advisory Board, which includes healthcare professionals, educators, and community partners who provide strategic direction and support.
We operate under the guidance of HOSA, Inc. (the national organization) and maintain our own bylaws, policies, and standards that reflect the unique needs and opportunities of the District of Columbia.
Whether you're a student exploring healthcare careers, an educator looking to start a chapter, or a healthcare professional wanting to give back, there's a place for you in DC HOSA. Together, we're not just preparing for careers in healthcare—we're building a community of compassionate, skilled, and inspired future health professionals who will transform healthcare for generations to come.
